Here is a quick and easy way to reduce your stress level.
If you are feeling some unwanted or excess stress during your day, this relaxation practice can help you quickly and easily regain your normal sense of feeling OK, calm and relaxed.
Step One. Take a few moments to breathe deeply. Take in a deep breath and as you breathe in count to three… 1 – 2 – 3. Notice your stomach expanding out as you count. Now hold your breath and count to three again… 1 – 2 – 3. Then breathe out very slowly and count to 6 this time… 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 – 6. Repeat this cycle 3 times.
Step Two. Now read the following paragraph to yourself and notice how you are beginning to feel more relaxed and more calm.
I am letting go of any mild stress I feel in my body… I feel calmer… I feel more relaxed… I feel in control… I am calm…I am relaxed… I am in control. I feel safe… I feel secure… I’m letting go… I am calm… I am relaxed. As I let go, all my muscle groups begin to relax… I feel calm… I feel relaxed…I feel in control.
Step Three. Notice how you feel now, and how you are beginning to feel more relaxed.
Whenever you feel some unwanted or excess stress during your day, you can do this relaxation practice. You can easily and effortlessly relax and create a greater sense of calm, just by taking 2-3 minutes to do this exercise.
You body listens to you so give it some positive suggestions about what you want… which I imagine is to feel relaxed and calm.
